Independence...

One of the parts of our trip that I was the most excited about was going back to
Missouri and being able to take Raymond to see my mission!
My home away from home! Oh how I missed you Missouri!
The Kansas City Missouri Temple!
SO Beautiful! Already planning my next trip once it's dedicated!

 Liberty
Raymond finally got to put faces to all the names that I always talk about!
Sweet Wendy!

Jacob & Sarah Wolfe & Brian & Brittany!
Anna and her family! Love them!
Bailey and MaKayla! They were my little sisters while I was gone!
I feel so blessed to have served my mission in Independence!  I've been thinking about it a lot lately and the lessons that I learned truly have prepared me for the trials that I face today.  Studying about the prophet Joseph Smith and learning about Zion have such a personal meaning to me and a day never goes by without thinking about some lesson that I learned while serving.

Cinncinati/Louisville

We had so much fun in Cinncinati!  One of Raymond's mission companions, Scott Caldwell, lives there and he has been wanting us to come and visit for and while and it did not disappoint!  At one point on the trip, I almost had Raymond convinced to move back east...but he will always be a boy from the west!
What's Cinncinati without going to a Reds game...

After we left, we headed to Louisville to the Louisville slugger museum.
Mickey Mantle's bat!
The only thing that bummed me about the trip was not being able to tour Churchill Downs...
we got there right when it was closing!
Can't be at the Derby without a big hat!

Grandpa Carroll & Palmyra

My dad's dad lives in New York, about an hour away from Palmyra and so we stopped to see him (and have Raymond meet him for the first time!)  It was so good to be able to visit with him and be able to go to Penn Yan, since the last time I went was 20 yrs. ago!

The Carroll Family Farm
Can I move here please?  My grandpa grew up here!
I love it back East! If it wasn't so far away from family, I'd move out there in a heartbeat! I can't get enough of the green!

Niagra Falls...

We weren't planning on going to Niagra Falls but since we were close, how could we miss a view like this!
Getting ready to go on the Maid of the Mist...before we got drenched!
The ponchos didn't help much! :)
The mist was so thick, it felt like you were standing under a waterfall. :)
This was probably one of the most breathtaking places we went to on our trip!
